I'm a 32-year-old father and husband born and bred in Massachusetts. I have a beautiful son named Will, a gorgeous wife named MJ who is far too hot to have married me, a dog I love and two cats I put up with. I'm a smart-ass former newspaper reporter with a penchant for turning a phrase, who decided to go corporate and is now enjoying life as a content manager for a website.
This blog is not just another "daddy blog." Sure I write about my son, but these pages are a record of my life. I don't just highlight the fun milestones like first steps, I also chronicle the "other stuff." The fights, the torment and the doubt that inevitably come with being a husband and father. It's not always puppy dogs and rainbows, but it is very real. And often there is beauty in the sadness, redemption in the struggle.
Thank you for checking me out, giving me a try and sticking around for the journey. If you'd like to contact me you can email aaron_gouveia (at) yahoo (dot) com.
What do you do when you have writer’s block and can’t think of anything good to write? You post video snippets of your adorable son eating mashed potatoes, that’s what!
You know, parenting is interesting.. Just when you decide that the weird waving arm flailing thing that your 9 month old daughter does when she eats is completely unrelated to anything, you see a video of another similarly aged child doing THE EXACT SAME THING. Any clues on why?
Haha, I know what you mean. I know each baby is different but so many of them share common traits that I previously thought were unique to just Will. But I have no idea why. He does this new thing when he gets excited or really upset. He balls his hands up into fists, put his arms out to the side, scrunches up his face and literally gets so worked up that he shakes. It’s pretty cute and it makes my laugh hysterically.
I know exactly what you are talking about!!!! My older daughter does that shaking thing! She’s been doing it since she was a baby and still does at 2 years 6 months old!!! I thought it was just her thing.

Dude, that kid is serious about his mashed potatoes! That is awesome.

You’re such a girl sometimes.
He is pretty damn cute though!
Thanks – I needed a Will fix!
so cute-I love the arm thing with his mouth:) He’s so funny!
He has quite the personality! Watching Will is liking seeing what I will be seeing again in 4 months nice! Good reminder:)
That is awesome! He is still adorable covered in mash potatoes.
He’s figured out the dog feeding trick. You’re done for now!
Too cute!!! Look at all those teeth…
