I have those nights at least once a week these days, so I feel for you. My daughter, who is now 21 months, was a HORRIBLE sleeper until long after her 1st birthday. Some nights she would be up every hour. She didn't want to eat...just needed comfort. On top of that, we had 2 dogs...an American Bulldog Pitbull Mix (sweetest thing) and an English Bulldog. Basically, the dogs and the baby didn't mix. They weren't aggressive towards her, but our lives were in complete CHAOS. We needed some relief, so the dogs...as hard as it was to do (they were our 1st "babies"!)...both went to very good homes! Then.........we effed it up and had baby # 2.......15 months apart from our 1st.................which, at times, is worse than wrangling 1 baby and 2 muscle dogs. We haven't had a full nights sleep in 5 months and MANY of those nights are as you describe.....but with our 5 month old waking up the 21 month...or vice versa. I've realized my body is starting to accept this punishment with open arms......... Just keep telling yourself that Fenway will be in a good home too soon...and the vaccinations just effed up little Will's sleep for a few days...but things WILL be good soon! Yeah...I know...doesn't work for me either! HA!

That sucks about the dog, I know they can feel like family.
Oh and if you think having a sick wife is bad you should try having a sick husband! ;)

I know it is hard getting rid of a pet. I feel bad for you but I would do the same thing. You have stuck with it a lot longer than any normal human could. Good luck.
