About Me

I'm a 33-year-old father and husband born and bred in Massachusetts. I have a beautiful son named Will, a gorgeous wife named MJ who is far too hot to have married me, a dog I love and two cats I put up with. I'm a smart-ass former newspaper reporter with a penchant for turning a phrase, who decided to go corporate and is now enjoying life as a content manager for a website.

This blog is not just another "daddy blog." Sure I write about my son, but these pages are a record of my life. I don't just highlight the fun milestones like first steps, I also chronicle the "other stuff." The fights, the torment and the doubt that inevitably come with being a husband and father. It's not always puppy dogs and rainbows, but it is very real. And often there is beauty in the sadness, redemption in the struggle.

Thank you for checking me out, giving me a try and sticking around for the journey. If you'd like to contact me you can email aaron_gouveia (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Boys Weekend

MJ has been gone all weekend to a bridal shower in New Jersey. At first, I thought “Woo hoo! Boy’s weekend!” I had thoughts of lounging around in my boxers, scratching myself, watching The Godfather and The Godfather II on TV. I would eat junk food, let Will do things he’s not supposed to and have a grand ole time.

Yeah. Didn’t quite work out that way…

I miss my wife. Something fierce. I’m a ruined man now, in that nothing is the same without MJ around. Sure I’m having fun hanging out with Will, just the two of us, but I’m ready for her to come home. Not because I’m frustrated with taking care of Will by myself, just because I miss her.

Ughhh…I’m such a puss. Now if you’ll excuse me, I think my mangina is showing.

LMAO …. you said it well

  • Aww. I think it’s sweet. :)
I bet she’s the one having a great time, haha.

  • Same thing happens when Big K goes away. For the first hour I’m thinking. “YEAH! I’m free”. Then, 10 minutes go by and I’m like, “okay, I’m done. He can come back now.”

You are still a pansy though. Not for missing MJ, but just in general. :-)

  • Yeah, you’re a puss all right! Ahh, I miss my husband terribly if he goes away overnight. It doesn’t happen very often, but I don’t like it when he does. I hate it even worse if my son has a sleepover somewhere. I can’t seem to sleep if all my peeps aren’t under the same roof.

  • JEE

    Mangina? ROTFLMAO!!!
