This blog is not just another "daddy blog." Sure I write about my son, but these pages are a record of my life. I don't just highlight the fun milestones like first steps, I also chronicle the "other stuff." The fights, the torment and the doubt that inevitably come with being a husband and father. It's not always puppy dogs and rainbows, but it is very real. And often there is beauty in the sadness, redemption in the struggle. The last 48 hours have been nothing short of mind-blowing. I posted a recap of Alexandra’s story on the Good Men Project site on Saturday. By Monday morning, it exploded all over the Internet. It landed on Salon, Jezebel, BoingBoing, Rachel Maddow’s blog and Slate to name a few. The You Tube video of my [...] [...] It all started when Chris didn’t go out for the football team. Chris, now 42, grew up in northern Michigan and had no idea his decision not to do battle on the gridiron would be the start of the biggest fight of his life. Because from that day on, all the other kids in school [...] [...] I know you’ve all heard about the Texas Pee Wee football brawl between angry coaches and parents. The timing is uncanny, but HBO just released a new documentary called 12th & Delaware. It’s about an abortion clinic in Fort Pierce, Fla. (where MJ’s parents used to [...] [...] I know you’ve all been in this situation before. You have a buddy, a great guy (reverse gender if you’re penis-deficient) who you love to hang out with.
